Author’s Note: If you’ve ever been bullied or felt to feel less than… this one’s for you.
You don’t really see me. You only judge what you believe. You never care to know the real me;
Do I not feel? Can I have no pain?
You don’t know, you just want to feel big again and again;
Your words stab deep in my soul, but you don’t care how I feel. Emotional scars sometimes never heal;
You can tear me down to build your false tower; It will never deliver your wanted power;
Because it’s not about me at all, but what you see in the mirror on your wall.
You feel small and unsure, so you stand on our backs to make you tall and secure;
But you have doomed us all to a prison of lies and fear that will plague each of us for many years;
We pledge to rise above your teases and sneers and overcome your nasty and brutal jeers;
Some others may allow your words to echo forever in their mind, but we will not dwell in your hell. We want to live in a world where everyone is considerate and kind.
I release the shackles of your judgement as incentive to my creed; This is our fight song. We’re not going to take it anymore. You’re hate doesn’t matter and we are free.
